IOS 7 is screwing with jailbreakers

Apple's new platform makes it harder for users to "jailbreak" the device and apply custom designs Visually speaking, things will never be the same for iOS users. This week’s public launch of iOS 7 marks the most substantial shift in the look and feel of Apple’s mobile operating system since it debuted in 2007. While the design overhaul will make for a palpably different experience for users of all stripes, it may be especially noticeable for jailbreakers. One of the perks of jailbreaking one’s iOS device has long been the ability to apply custom design themes via a platform called WinterBoard. In recent years, however, WinterBoard’s ability to re–skin ever–evolving versions of iOS has slowly degraded. With iOS 7, the prospects look particularly dim, according to developers and designers in the jailbreaking community. Apple Releases iOS 7-Ready iTunes 11.1, With iTunes Radio, Podcast Stations And More For Mac And PC

Apple has just released iTunes 11.1, the update to iTunes that brings iTunes Radio to its desktop music software. The Pandora-like streaming music service offers custom stations based on artists and genres, with ad-free streaming for those with iTunes Match subscriptions, or on an ad-supported basis completely free, with track skipping included. The other big thing this update brings relevant to today is iOS 7 device support, which is necessary for those looking to update and sync their devices via the desktop when that new mobile OS goes live, likely in a couple of hours. If you still sync with your desktop regularly (I’ve stopped long ago thanks to iCloud), then you need to get downloading now to keep things running smoothly post-update.Apple has just released iTunes 11.1, the update to iTunes that brings iTunes Radio to its desktop music software. Siri leaves beta, enters manhood [VIDEO]

When Siri, the voice "assistant" on the iPhone, made its debut in 2011, it was welcomed as futuristic way to interact with our gadgets. You could ask it simple questions, banter and flirt, or launch applications with one push of a button and without slogging through touchscreen menus. Two years later, Apple is giving Siri a major overhaul as part of Thursday's upgrade to its iOS 7 mobile operating system, and it's marking the occasion by finally dropping Siri's "beta" label. (Calling software beta usually means it is still a work in progress and that the company is ironing out any bugs.) Apple unveils cheaper iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S with fingerprint sensor [VIDEO]

Apple unveiled two new versions of its flagship iPhone on Tuesday, including a lower-cost smartphone aimed at price-conscious customers in fast-growing overseas markets. Six years after it entered the smartphone market, Apple is shifting strategies to appeal to a more fragmented audience and threats from low-cost competitors. With the introduction of the cheaper phone, the iPhone 5C, Apple is targeting a younger, less-affluent audience.
